Kunio Kawaguchi, the photographer members of the IEPA, International Environment Photographers Association.

He started observing nature at his young age, when he went to collecting insects and plants. He organized a mountain climbing club with his friends after graduating from high school, and that is when he started to climb alpines. Since 1950, he has been published numerous photographs of mountains in photographic magazines and outdoor magazines.

He is an honorary chairman of Japan Alpine Photographers Association (JAPA), member of Japan Professional Photographers Society (JPS), The Photographic Society of Japan (PSJ), Society of Scientific Photography (SSP) and other major photographer's associations.
