George Wuerthner

He was originally trained as a wildlife biologist and botanist. But he concluded that informing people about environmental and conservation issues would have a much greater impact than anything he could as a wildlife biologist. So he embarked on a career in writing/photography. He has published 35 books so far. Most are heavily illustrated with photos based upon the premise that "one picture is worth a thousand words." Through photography he hopes to inform people about conservation issues, as well as provide motivation through his more beautiful wildlife and landscape images, a reason to preserve wild landscapes.
